Poverty Tells Many Stories

Did you know that October 17, was World Poverty Day? You know, with my heart for Compassion its easy for me to put on what I’ll call poverty blinders. Its easy to get in the habit of thinking that poverty is an over there thing, never an over here thing. It doesnt happen in my backyard. I dont know any hungry children. dont know any adults struggling to provide for their families. Its an over there thing. Right?

Not hardly.

Poverty can be anywhere. Poverty is not biased. Poverty is cruel. Poverty wants me to look the other way, and its all to easy for me to oblige. Until God Gibbs smacks me and says, “Probie, What are you thinking? Open your eyes! Poverty is everywhere! Spiritual Poverty is in YOU if you turn a blind eye!”

And just like that, I found this video on YouTube. It opened my eyes and reminded me, Poverty Tells Many Stories. I hope it speaks to you as well. (video is in what sounds like Dutch or German to me, but is transcribed in English. Trust me, the video transcends language)
