Lesson Learned from Mark Twain

Google tells me that today, November 30, 2011, would have been Mark Twain’s 176th birthday ~ and wouldn’t you know, his writing, like all good writing, is still relevant today. In reading about his life, I found a truly inspiring quote:

Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
~ Mark Twain

Kindness reaches across all barriers. Kindness touches all walks of life. Kindness changes the world.

Kindness can be simple: a note of thanks, a card of appreciation, a hug, a smile

Kindness can be quite difficult: an act of forgiveness, a stand for what is right, an encouraging word in a dark time, a smile

And yet, Kindness impacts us all.

I ask, have you been kind today? Can you be kind today?
