I’m joining the Gypsy Mama and her Five Minute Fridays. Rules are: for only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not. Won’t you join us?

Blue
A color that, when spoken, evokes feelings of sadness, depression, general unhappiness. As in, I’ve been feeling very blue lately.
But yet, blue can also represent the sky, hope, and dreams.
And for me, it has come to be synonomous with Compassion International and their blue themed branding.
And this brings me joy. Makes me happy. Fills me with hope.
Because through Compassion, This little girl no longer has to feel blue.
She doesn’t have to worry about where her next meal will come from, if she will be able to go to school, or if she can see a doctor when she’s sick. Through Compassion, that wonderfully blue organization, all her physical, mental, and spiritual needs are met. She doesn’t have to be blue. Instead she can dream in bright, vibrant colors – like fuchsia 🙂
Won’t you change the color of a child’s world?

Thanks! I’ve always had a fondness for elephants and when starting this blog I could think of no better name that described what I wanted to convey. I’m glad you found me, too!

Thanks! Helen, the girl in the photo, is my sponsor child with Compassion and I just learned that her favorite color is fuchsia…. and now that I think about it, you can’t get the color fuchsia without having a little blue first… something to think about. 🙂
