Five Minute Friday: Connected

I’m joining the Gypsy Mama and her Five Minute Fridays. Rules are: for only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not. Won’t you join us?

{start}

When I think of connected, I think interconnectivity, technology, and social media. I envision a web of communication connecting each of us to one-another in a constantly constricting manner. Connected.

Me to You.

You to Me.

Despite distance, at this moment in time we are connected.

And yet, we are so disconnected.

The more I read blogs about Compassion, Child Slavery, Rescue, and Redemption, the more I realize that as a world-citizen, I am blind and deaf. I am disconnected from the plight of my neighbors. I am disconnected from the need. Disconnected from the hurt…

And in being so disconnected, I have lost my connection with God.

So, today I pick up my phone to Heaven and dial 2 Corinthians 5.

It’s time to reconnected.

Time to be connected.

{end.}

    This is a wonderful reminder. What you said about being blind and deaf really struck a chord. Thank you for sharing your insights.
