I’m joining the Gypsy Mama and her Five Minute Fridays. Rules are: for only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not. Won’t you join us?

Open.
Open hearts, open minds, open eyes.
As I think back over the year, and specifically the last few months my eyes are opened to a journey that has been hard and long. A path where I have not always been graceful, but where I am still prodding along. And I find that while some doors have closed, some chapters have ended – others begin. Windows open. Hope seeps through in new and exciting ways.
And I try to be open.
Have an open heart where scars run deep.
Have an open mind to let love seep.
and have open eyes to see what love reaps.
And I realize – I’ve been emptied of mine to be filled with His.
I’ve had my doors closed for His windows to open.
And maybe, being opened is a continual process – more like a revolving door than cage pried off its hinges.
2 Corinthians 6:13 – As a fair exchange—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts also.
{end.}

Emily ~ This is beautiful. It IS hard to have an open heart when wounds and scars are deep. But I know too, God heals and lets those scars glorify Him. Blessings to you in the new year!

…being opened is a continual process…
Yes, indeed. Oh, that we would be emptied so that we would be filled with Him. I am so thankful we serve a God who opens windows. Beautiful post!

open…brings to mind a sense of space, a blank canvas, a blank page ready to be filled with HIM. His Words, His guidance…Him.
