For each month in 2013, I’m consciously setting a handful of attainable goals for myself. So far, it’s been pretty rad. I’ve yet to accomplish everything on my monthly lists, but more and more, I’m surprised at what I do get done.
April is going to be awesome. I can just tell. Know why? Because April is my birthday month, Spring, longer days, pretty flowers, sunshine, sewing projects, and gardens all wrapped up into one awesome set of four weeks and two days.
That being said, here’s what I’ve decided to accomplish in April:
~ to regularly attend Spanish Classes. Last week I started taking Spanish classes at my local Hispanic Center. I’m really enjoying it so far, and am excited to be able to communicate on even a basic level when I go to Ecuador this fall.
~ get back to walking that 5k. Unfortunately, my Spanish classes are at the exact same time as my yoga class – which means I have to put yoga on hold for 8 weeks. In that time, I’m going to make an effort to get back to walking my 5k route several times a week. When I took my new job, my daily walk was one of the things I missed most. Thankfully the days are getting longer and there’s now enough time for me to walk after work.
~ start new quilts. I have
big huge plans on the sewing front later this month, and I’m excited to share them with you. But for now, you’ll have to make do with knowing that I will be sewing more quilts soon.
~ plant tomatoes. The straw bale garden is 100% my favorite outdoor activity thus far. And, with (fingers crossed) the snow finally past us, the weather should soon be warm enough to plant my favorite home-grown food: tomatoes! Can. Not. Wait!
~ better manage my food and finances. I know, and I mean know, that going to Ecuador in September will have a major impact on me – in ways that I cannot currently imagine. I expect it to put a toll on me physically and spiritually. So, I’m working on being a bit pro-active and strengthening my body and my wallet. The goal here – healthier long term choices.
~ celebrate me. It’s my birthday month – that alone is reason for celebration, right? Plus, I’ve got some amazing plans with one of my best girls. Add in a bit of Neon Trees, not seeing each other since Christmas, and a gift exchange, & anything could happen.
How about you? Do you have any intentions for April?
