Project Life: Week 23

ProjectLifeWeek23Left

Nice, slow week this week. Lots of gardening – lots of calm.PLWK23InsertFront

Plus, I finished Quilt #3 of 26 (and documented it with an insert)ProjectLifeWeek23Right PLWK23QuiltFront

I really like to add some of the scrap fabric to the quilt photos – and this insert was no different. PLW23QuiltBack

I’m also having some issues with the pack of “Design J” Page Protectors that I recently purchased – they keep splitting at the top-side seam (the “folded” seam) & are not exactly 4″ x 4.” Which means I’m having to trim my photos (not really a big deal) and reinforce the edges (kind of a pain). To reinforce the side seam, I ended up stitching my photos in place – it works well for the quilting insert, but isn’t really something I should have to be doing… Hopefully I just got a bad batch. Anyone else expierencing problems with the Design J pages? I will say the ones I purchased & am having some difficulty with were in a pack by themselves – not a variety pack. The Design J pages I’ve used from a variety pack have all been perfect.

We enjoyed many a BLT (or BAT in my case – bacon, avacado, tomato) sandwich this week, and I tell you, you just can’t beat a home-grown tomato. PLW23Brakes

I spent Saturday afternoon helping my Dad bleed the brakes on his 1967 Ford Econoline Pick-up Truck. It took forever, and we’re still not finished…PLW23CabbagePLW23Cats

A few other highlights from the week:

  • The garden is perking up after the soaker hose was added – but the bale plants are still lagging behind the in-ground plants
  • I had some great raspberry lemonade, but the bar-code was probably my favorite (well done, Hubert’s Lemonade. Well done.)
  • Our pool is more like a lake and less like a pool – and that has got to change soon or it will be too hot to swim

Supplies Used: All photos taken with iPhone 4s & printed at Walgreens and Walmart; Seafoam Core KitMonthly DividersLarge Paper Binder; Digital Seafoam Papers printed at Office Max; Amy Tangerine date stamp; orange & red washi  from Target; lately stamp & grid washi from Studio Calico; “Your Awesome is Showing” Stamp from mertilton; “This is true Happiness” Stamp from Elle’s Studio; cat flair from evaliciousDesign A Page ProtectorsDesign J Page Protector; 3×4 Grid Journaling CardsFiskars Corner RounderZig Millenium Pen; staz-on ink; Stampabilities ink; & American Crafts slick writer.

***I get a lot of questions about the mini photo collages I use in my spreads. To make them, I use the frametastic iPhone app set to the postcard size. I take & process 100% of my photos using just my phone; and most of the time, I print straight from my phone to Walgreens via the Printicular app.

Beautiful. I love the quilting insert with all the sewing and fabric. I haven’t had an issue with design J. The stitching it a pretty fix, but you are right, you shouldn’t HAVE to do that. :o/
I LOVE BALT (Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce and Tomato) sandwiches. It’s amazing how much better they are with fresh homegrown tomatoes. :o)

nice layout – love the garden photos! I find myself wanting to snap pics every time we bring in an armful of tomatoes or find more flowers that opened up 🙂

Thanks! And I’m right there with you – every flower and every harvest makes me what to go photo crazy 🙂 — but often, those photos make good filler photos on slow weeks. So it evens out I guess 🙂
